What are the advantages of using a live band?

top

The Rolling Thunder Revue can make your event a memorable one. The energy and attraction of live music is undeniable, and our performance gets the crowd dancing and having a good time!

Do you have an audio demo or promotional materials?

top

Yes. Feel free to contact us at anytime for a promo kit which can include a CD.

How long has The Rolling Thunder Revue been together?

top

The Rolling Thunder Revue has been together since the Winter of 2005.

How many musicians are in your band?

top

The Rolling Thunder Revue is a five piece band, with additional musicians added depending on the venue/event.

Can you perform as a smaller group?

top

We can be booked as an acoustic solo performer, as a duo or trio, or as the full 5+ piece band depending on the tone and size of your event. Most of our engagements are interested in the full band.

What style of music do you play?

top

The Rolling Thunder Revue plays selections spanning 40+ years from Bob Dylan's entire song catalog. Our sound is 100% authentic rock'n'roll, sure to get people dancing and singing along. Inflected by country, blues, southern & classic rock, and of course folk, our arrangements recall The Band, The Byrds, Tom Petty, Wilco, and Dylan's "Rolling Thunder" period (hence the name) current touring band.

What venues do you play?

top

We perform at a variety of venues: small- to mid-sized clubs, large outdoor festivals, banquet rooms, hotel ballrooms, even private homes and backyards. We cater all our shows to the size of your event.

What kind of events do you play?

top

We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to the different spaces and styles of events we play. Large corporate events, cocktail parties, boat cruises, stadiums, outdoor festivals, etc... You name it, we'll probably play it.

Can you play songs not on your song list?

top

We've worked hard to maintain an extensive repetoire, incorporating both Dylan's hits and "deep cuts" from all his albums. So you can rest assured that we'll tap into your favorite Dylan numbers. But if you have any specific requests, we'd love to hear them.

Can you provide music during cocktail hour or dinner?

top

We gladly provide recorded music during any down time, if requested. We'll automatically provide music for pre-show, between sets, or dinner. We typically keep a playlist complimentary to our sets. If you have any particular music you'd like, feel free to pass it on to us and we'll be sure it gets on.

Do you provide your own sound system?

top

We provide all PA equipment required to support our performance up to a mid-sized venue. For larger events, we can reinforce our sound system, though an additional charge may incur.

What are your space and electrical power requirements?

top

We ask our clients to provide a stage or floor space of 18x12x10 feet. For electrical power we require two standard 120V power sources within 50 feet of the band's setup location.

When and how will the band set up?

top

We ask for a 2 hour window from door time for our engineer & crew to load our production equipment. The band usually arrives 1 hour prior to door for a complete soundcheck. Less setup time is possible for some events with prior consent.

What if we’re concerned that the band will be too loud?

top

The Rolling Thunder Revue is always prepared to perform within any volume constraints. When loud sound is an issue, we usually bring in a very minimal sound system and have been known to only amplify vocals when necessary.

How can I hear your band?

top

Visit our MySpace page or feel free to contact us anytime to receive a CD demo of the band.

Do you take breaks?

top

The band takes one 10-15 minute break each hour, or a 20 minute break between longer sets. If desired, recorded music can be played during these break periods to provide continuous music for your event.

How long is your show?

top

Depending on venue and event, we vary the length of our show. We generally find the fewer breaks we have, the more fun people tend to have. We generally play one or two 45-50 minute sets in a club situation, but can play as much as 3 hours worth of music at event engagements. We are certainly flexible for your convenience.

Can you provide references?

top

Absolutely. References of clients are always available upon request.

How much do you charge?

top

Our competitive fees are based upon several factors including the number of performers, quantity of hours, and location. Please contact us anytime for a free quote.

How far in advance should bookings be made?

top

As soon as you have a date, let us know so we can have you on our calendar. We get many inquiries and want to be sure we get to your event.

What are your payment terms?

top

An initial deposit representing 50% of the contract value is required with the signed contract to reserve the band. The balance is due at your event. Acceptable forms of payment include personal checks, and cash.

What are your meal and gratuity requirements?

top

Hot meals are normally provided by our client since performers & crew spend 6 - 8 hours working including travel, setup/teardown, and playing times. Gratuities are purely optional and not included in our fees. Tipping is generally $25-$50 per musician.

How far will you travel?

top

Although The Rolling Thunder Revue is based in Georgia (Atlanta/Athens), we're available to travel anywhere your budget permits. Please inquire with specifics (date/time, location) to see if we can make the trip to your event.
